أَقْرَبُ مَا يَكُونُ الْعَبْدُ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ سَاجِدٌ فَأَكْثِرُوا الدُّعَاءَ
“The nearest a servant comes to his Lord is when he is prostrating, so make abundant supplication.”
The Prophet ﷺ · Sahih Muslim 482
How it works

Three gestures. Then only your prayer.

1.

Place it behind your heels

It sets up in a second and rests quietly on your prayer mat, between your feet.

2.

Go down into sujood

Stand, bow and prostrate on the floor as always — forehead and nose on the ground.

3.

Sit back, gently

For jalsa and tashahhud, rest on the stool instead of your knees and ankles. Rising is easier too.

Does this sound familiar?

If you tick 3 or more, the stool was made for you

  • ✓Getting up from sujood is the hardest part: you need the wall, the sofa or someone's hand.
  • ✓You can't sit back for the tashahhud without support.
  • ✓You pray on a dining chair at home — and feel ashamed to do it at the masjid.
  • ✓Chairs go to the last row — so you stay at the back, or you pray at home.
  • ✓You have missed a prayer because sujood hurt too much.
  • ✓You wonder if your prayer still “counts” when you pray seated.
  • ✓You have tried stacked mats, knee cushions, two chairs — and taraweeh is still hard.

No, it is not “just age”. And no, you do not have to give up the floor. It is not your iman that has grown tired. It is the sitting positions — and that is exactly what the stool takes care of.

You are not alone

Your body is tired. Not your iman.

“I can perform everything but prostrating and then getting up from the ground.” We read these words again and again from parents and grandparents. Five times a day the floor hurts, so they pray faster, sit on a chair, or stay at home. It is not a lack of faith. It is the sitting positions — and that is what the stool changes.

Pray without dreading itYou sit back on the stool, not on your ankles. The pain stops getting in the way.
Back on the floor, back in the saffForehead on the ground, shoulder to shoulder at the masjid — no more chair at the back.
From the very next salahNo waiting, no setting up. Place it behind your heels and pray.
AERESO Sujud Stool
When pain speaks louder than the prayer

Your lips recite. Your mind is on your knees.

You know the feeling. Al-Fatiha on your tongue — and all you can think about is the moment you have to sit back down.

You rush the tashahhud to get it over with. You brace yourself before every sujood. You look for the wall before you rise. The prayer is still there, but the presence has gone.

The Sujud Stool takes the strain of the sitting positions, so your body can settle — and your heart can return to the One you are speaking to.

What the scholars advise

Between the chair and the floor

Put the chair away

A chair asks you to give up the floor. The stool lets you keep it.

Praying on a chair
Before

The chair

  • Sujood made in the air
  • Moved to the back row
  • Heavy, bulky, stays at home
  • Blocks the sujood of the row behind
  • Eyes on you at the masjid
Praying on the Sujud Stool
After

The stool

  • Forehead on the ground
  • Your place in the saff
  • Light and compact
  • Nobody behind you blocked
  • Low, quiet, discreet

Coming back to sujood after years is not a small thing.
It is a homecoming.

AERESO Sujud Stool
Our elders

Knees that have carried a lifetime of prayers

Arthritis, a knee replacement, stiff hips. Standing and bowing are fine — it is sitting back and getting up again that hurts. That is exactly where the stool helps.

Sons & daughters

For the parent praying on a kitchen chair

You have watched them hold the furniture to stand after sujood. Give them back the prayer they miss — a gift used five times a day, for Ramadan, for Eid, for always.

Expecting mothers

Every sujood, a little lighter

In the last months, each change of position is an effort. Sit back gently between prostrations and keep your five prayers in peace.

After surgery

Back on the floor, gently

A knee or hip replacement, an ankle operation: while you recover, the stool lets you keep praying on the floor at your own pace.

On the go

Masjid, family visits, Umrah

It is light and slips into a bag or the car boot, so your prayer is comfortable wherever you are.

A religion of ease

Your questions

Before you pray with it

Is it permissible to pray with a stool?

Read what the scholars say (Permanent Committee, al-Fawzan, Ibn ʿUthaymīn). The Prophet ﷺ said: “Pray standing; if you cannot, then sitting” (Sahih al-Bukhari 1117). The stool is for those who struggle with the sitting positions: you still stand, bow and make sujood on the floor, and only sit on it for jalsa and tashahhud — staying as close as you can to the prayer as you learnt it. Shaykh Salih al-Fawzan explains that whoever prays sitting should sit on the floor if they can, as it is better and more complete; if not, on a chair — preferably a small one, placed in line with the row so it does not take up space or inconvenience others — and should still prostrate on the ground if able (source). Situations differ, so if you are unsure about yours, please ask your local imam.

Will I lose reward if I sit?

No. The Prophet ﷺ said: “When a slave falls ill or travels, then he will get reward similar to that he gets for good deeds practiced at home when in good health” (Sahih al-Bukhari 2996). If pain is what keeps you from sitting on your heels, your reward is not cut.

Is it for everyone?

No — and we would not want it to be. It is made for those who need it: elders, people with painful knees, hips or ankles, after an operation, or in the last months of pregnancy. If you can sit on the floor without difficulty, keep praying as you do.

Will my sujood still be complete?

Yes. In sujood your forehead and nose, both hands, both knees and your toes stay on the ground, toes turned towards the qiblah. The stool sits behind your heels and is never used to prostrate on.

Is it stable? Will it hold me?

It is a solid seat with a wide base, designed for an adult to sit on during the prayer. Maximum load: 200 kg. If you have a specific concern, write to us before ordering and we will answer honestly.

Will it suit my size?

The seat is wide and padded, and the supplier gives these dimensions: about 33 cm wide, 22 cm deep and 25 cm high. If you have a question about your own situation, write to us before ordering.

Does it need assembling?

It arrives in a compact box: the frame and seat fit together in a few minutes, and then it stays ready to use.

Can I take it to the masjid?

Yes. It is light and compact, makes no noise on carpet, wood or tile, and sits low behind you — it takes far less room than a chair and you keep your place in the row.

Is it a good gift for my parents?

It is a gift used five times a day. The two-stool set lets you give one to each parent, or keep one at home and one at the masjid.

How do I get the padded prayer mat?

With the two-stool set, the padded prayer mat (thick, soft cushioning for knees and forehead) costs only £10 instead of £34.99. With the three-stool set, it is free. It travels in the same parcel.

Pray without pain. Pray as you always have.

Put the chair away. Take back your place in the saff — and the sujood you have been missing.
