About this model

Doodle a fun 3D alligator by tracing the body pieces, making two matching legs, then assembling everything together. It’s a simple animal project that’s great for beginners and easy to build in just a few steps.

🛒 What you'll need

  • 3Doodler Start+ Pen
  • 3Doodler Start+ Filament
  • Free stencil
  • 3Doodler Start+ DoodlePad

Step by step 👇

1

Gather materials

Step 1 alligator

Get your 3Doodler Start+ pen, some filament, the free stencil and a DoodlePad ready before you begin.

Having everything ready first makes the build much easier.
2

Trace out the body

Using your DoodlePad, trace out the body of the alligator on the free stencil. Remove the finished body pieces from the DoodlePad.

Keep your outlines neat so the two body sides line up well later.
3

Trace out the legs

Step 3 alligator

Trace out the leg shape of the alligator on the free stencil. Make two of these and remove the pieces from the DoodlePad.

Try to make both legs the same size for a more balanced alligator.
4

Assemble the alligator

Step 4 alligator

After all of the body parts are doodled, place the sides of the body together and doodle along the bottom to connect them. Add extra filament to the inside of the feet to attach them securely to the body.

Hold the parts steady for a moment so the joins cool in place.

💡 Pro tip

Let the body cool slightly before attaching the legs. That helps the alligator keep its shape and makes assembly much easier.
