Snowman
About this model
Doodle a festive 3D snowman by building two round body pieces, joining them together, then adding a scarf, top hat and carrot nose. It’s a fun winter project that’s perfect for practising rounded shapes and decorative details.
🛒 What you'll need
- White filament
- Orange filament
- Black filament
- Red filament
- Tissue paper
Step by step 👇
Assemble your materials

Gather your filament colours and some tissue paper before starting.
Form the first body piece

Take a piece of tissue paper and ball it up. Start doodling around the outside until you have a rounded shell with enough space to remove the tissue.
Make the second body piece

Remove the tissue and add more filament so the ball becomes almost solid. Repeat the whole process one more time so you have two snowman body pieces.
Attach the body together

Add a little extra filament between the two pieces and attach them together to create the classic snowman shape.
Add a scarf

Using a different colour, doodle a scarf around the neck of your snowman and extend it down the body so it creates a scarf-like swoop.
Doodle a top hat

Roll tissue paper like a marker and doodle around it to make the hat ring. Then fill in the top and create a wide flat brim around it.
Attach the hat and face details

Firmly attach the top hat to the snowman using a little filament underneath the brim. Then add dots for the eyes, mouth and buttons.
Finish with a carrot nose

Use tissue paper to make a small cone shape, doodle over it with orange filament, then remove the tissue and attach the nose to the snowman’s face.
💡 Pro tip
Let each round body section cool slightly before adding more filament. That helps the snowman keep a cleaner shape and makes the final assembly much easier.
