⚡ Intermediate 🕐 60 minutes 🧒 Ages 7+ 🎹 Multi-colour

About this model

Create a fun 3D ice cream cone by preparing the stencil, shaping the cone, then adding a rounded scoop on top. This project is perfect for building curved shapes and playful dessert-style designs.

🛒 What you'll need

  • 3Doodler Create+ Pen
  • 3Doodler Create+ PLA Pastel Bundle
  • 3Doodler Create+ DoodlePad
  • Scissors
  • Tape
  • Free Ice Cream Cone stencil

Step by step 👇

1

Assemble your materials

Step 1 ice cream cone

Gather your 3D pen, filament, DoodlePad, scissors, tape and print out the free stencil before you begin.

Get all your colours ready first so the build feels much smoother.
2

Get the stencil ready: Part 1

Put tape over the top of the ice cream cone stencils and carefully cut them out.

The tape helps strengthen the stencil before you start shaping it.
3

Get the stencil ready: Part 2

Roll the cut-out stencil so it looks like a real cone, then use tape to hold it together so it does not unwind.

Shape it tightly enough so the cone keeps a nice point at the bottom.
4

Doodle your cone

Trace the entire cone on the outside of the stencil. Make sure your lines connect as one piece so it stays together when you separate it from the paper.

Try to keep the cone surface evenly covered so it feels strong and neat.
5

Remove the paper from your cone

Once your cone starts to look like a real ice cream cone, carefully remove the stencil from inside the shape.

6

Don’t forget the ice cream

Step 6 ice cream cone

Ball up a small piece of tissue so it fits on top of the cone, then doodle back and forth over it until you create a half-sphere scoop. Remove the paper and use melted filament to attach the scoop to the cone as one finished piece.

💡 Pro tip

Let the cone cool properly before removing the stencil. That helps it keep its shape and makes the final scoop much easier to attach.
